THD W6s  10-2 Vs Wapping 7s

The Sixes were at Wapping this week, with a must win game to have a chance of promotion and potential to finish top of the table. With train strikes (and St Patrick’s day celebrations the day before) leaving the team with 11 players, and a rather bleak weather forecast there was a chance the team could feel down beat.

However, the team was on top form with Rowan scoring 4 goals, contributing significantly to our 10-2 victory. Some epic runs down the wing, and strong play in midfield from Bea, Laura and Abi left the 6s in a strong position at half time. Phoebe earned herself player of the match with a great short corner goal and credit must also go to her new stick, which replaced a stick that was older than some of the team! Emily and Liv also got themselves on the score sheet with fantastic goals. Ola, Hannah and Chantal defended well against a few strong counter attacks with Namii being called to make a few fab saves. The team all played fantastically together and it’s nice to see what we have been working on in training has been paying off in games!
