Match Report

An 11-1 defeat the week before against top of the league had the team hungry for a win against 3rd in the league, Remnants.

Pre match tactics in the chat, a new warm up and a speaker on the side line, we were trying new methods to bring home a win - and with only one sub! With the sun shining down on one half, GK Jules told captain to get us to switch sides in the toss if possible - any tactic to win!

A tough match with Remnants earning a short early in the game that they couldn’t convert. We seemed to be evenly matched until superstar striker Fiona put one in the back of their goal followed by another shortly after. Remnants were not to be dismissed as a scramble in our D with GK Jules on the ground saw them have a clear rebound shot saved on the goal line by Narnia. We ended half time comfortably 2-0 up.

Half time team talk to keep playing aggressively - and cheer on Fiona to finally get herself a Hat-trick - as well as mark out Remnants 38 who was causing issues for our defence.

The second half can only be described as a blur… Fiona scored, Robine scored, Fiona scored, Maisie scored … and this is when we lost track somewhat. We were comfortably 6-0 up with 20 minutes still to play and all of the forward line had scored.

Remnants kept us on our toes with many tense moments in the D leaving us close to conceding a goal. Luckily they were too slow to take that shot allowing defenders Abbie, Kelsey, Rosie and Narnia to swoop in and clear or they hit the post on a 1v1 against Jules.

It was goals from here on out for THD until the final whistle. Midfielders Avni, Alex, Amy and Jess set themselves up perfectly to make this happen. Another 7 goals in the last quarter of the game saw us finish on a wild 13-0.
