We won the one week the captain didn’t show up. I’m not saying there’s a link, but the timing is interesting.

THD Mixed 2-0 Wapping

A solid 2-0 win against Wapping Pirates, who were sent back east with minimal fuss. Not bottom of the table going into Xmas is frankly outstanding, have a look at our goal difference, scientists will be studying this one for years hahaha. 

The First goal came just at the stroke of halftime, a stunning goal from Raf, who was returning after what could be described as a multi-month sabbatical and instantly scored, just to remind us he can. 

The second goal followed from Nick, apparently hidden by Guy for four years before being released into society to score on debut.

A great shift all round and full effort right to the end, and genuinely deserved post-match pints (baby Guinnesses)

Raf - Gorgeous goal, welcome back

Cara - Back in action for the mixed, immediately embarrassing people in one v ones 

Nick- Goal on debut, the only person enjoying himself more than him was Guy, taking credit.

Dishonourable mentions

Sophie - Thanksgiving dinner and a big night out were honestly inspirational preparations. But led to leaving for a creative break at half time, still made it back for a baby Guinness so partial redemption.

Archie - chose to watch West Ham lose instead of playing in the only match we won this season so far. And Will has no friends. Guy wore the wrong kit colours, tried to sub people off while playing for the other team, and generally played nearly more football than hockey for both sides. 

Role on January 11th, when we attempt a late title charge. Ideally, this time with the captain present, or depending on your interpretation of recent results, very much not present.
