We are Hiring!

Tulse Hill & Dulwich HC
Tulse Hill & Dulwich Hockey Club was formed in 2002 by the merger of Tulse Hill HC, Dulwich HC and Dulwich Women’s HC. We are one of the biggest clubs in London.
We have 7 men’s teams, 7 women’s teams, and both men’s (x2) and women’s masters teams. We have a thriving junior section with a philosophy of being open to all. We have a newly developed outreach programme, THD Phoenix providing free hockey coaching to selected children. We are a very friendly hockey club, with a summer league, a full social programme, indoor and mixed hockey.

Performance Squads
THD M1s and W1s are the flagship teams of our club. Both compete in the Premier Division of the London Hockey League. The women missed out on promotion last season on goal difference only and both teams aspire to promotion to the National League. M2s and L2s both play in London division 2 south and it is a stated aim of the Head Coach that the gap between the 1s and 2nd teams should be reduced.

Performance Squad Coaching
Both our men’s and women’s first team squads are coached by Head Coach George Lovegrove. M1s and M2s train on a Tuesday and W1&2s on a Wednesday. The performance squads require a team of 3 additional performance squad coaches, hence this advert. It is envisaged that the successful applicant or applicants will work with George to provide high quality week night training for the performance squads. To develop and implement training programs for the team, focusing on skill development, game strategy, and teamwork. Ensuring team sessions are productive, safe and engaging. There is a specific need for Saturday pitch side coaching for the W2s to bring them closer in standard to W1s in order to facilitate optimal selection and player progression through the squads. The applicant will therefore need to be available to coach on Saturdays. Video analysis of some home games may be available. There will be the opportunity to work with George in the planning and delivery of training sessions as well as pitch side match day coaching. George has coached in England Junior performance environments for many years heading up Futures Cup and Performance centre teams. He graduated from the Great Britain Advanced Coaching Programme three years ago and now supports and mentors coaches on the junior circuit.

Qualifications and skills
A Level 2 Hockey Coaching Qualification is desirable.
Experience in coaching and developing a team to achieve a happy culture as well as excellent on pitch performance is required. As this is a development opportunity, applications will be considered from individuals with any coaching qualifications and experience provided they are considered a good fit for the role.  An application from a player coach would be considered.
Salary would be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Other coaching opportunities within the senior and junior sections of the club would also be available. A additional link to bring through the higher performing junior players into the senior sides would be especially desirable.
