We are Recruiting: Junior Coaches (Girls Teams)

Tulse Hill & Dulwich (THD) Hockey Club are looking to recruit enthusiastic, inspiring and skilled coaches to join our junior section.

THD is a large club based in South East London with over 850 active members. We have a thriving junior section which ranges from ages 6-18, THD Phoenix along with 16 adult teams and 4 vets teams. We are based in Dulwich and play our hockey at Dulwich College, James Allen's Girls School and Alleyn's School.

In 2024, THD Phoenix was recognised by England Hockey and was shortlisted for their annual awards in the Diversity and Inclusion Champion category. THD Phoenix provides free hockey to state school children in Primary Schools.

The club is currently working towards the nationally-recognised, cross-sport accreditation Club Mark in collaboration with England Hockey.

Our Junior section is led by the Director of Junior Hockey. We are looking for Junior Coaches to lead girls’ sections. Successful candidates will oversee the annual coaching programme for one or more age groups, liaise with the Coach Coordinator and Group Captain(s) regarding coach and volunteer support/allocations and manage weekly team selections. Weekly availability for our Sunday training/fixtures programme is essential, and for midweek sessions would be desirable (Thursday 6-7).

Outlined below in this job description are the desired credentials of the ‘ideal’ candidates. However, we are looking to broaden the pool of role models for our young players. So, for female coaches (or aspiring female coaches), or those from minority backgrounds, if you would potentially be interested in joining our coaching team but do not fully meet the criteria of the role(s), we would still love to hear from you and to consider your application. It is worth highlighting that the club offers funding for coaching qualifications and relevant training.

These positions could be combined with other coaching roles within the club  (junior/senior). Further opportunities to be discussed during the application process.
