Predictions from Your Captains
W1
We’ve had our ups and downs as a new team but when we play our best hockey we can beat any team in the league! Hoping for a top 3 finish and will settle for nothing less! We’re currently #3 - come on ladies!
The toughest game will, without a doubt, be vs Spencer when we'll be seeking revenge. 12th of Feb, 11:30 at Spencer be there!
Top goalscorer: We’ve got quite the spread with Bente is in the lead and Sophie Apps chasing her heels! Closely contested by drag-flicker Lucy Seager!
DOD: Although she’s left us for Oz, I imagine Sophie Carter will still be our biggest DOD of the season, I’m sure I’ll (Jen) give her a good run for her money though.
W2s
We had a slow start to the season but got into the groove of playing some lovely hockey and climbed into the top half of the table for Christmas.
The hardest match is going to be the first week back against London Ed's 1s - hoping to improve on the 7-1 loss first time out! (UPDATE: we did improve massively but sadly they snuck away with a 2-1 win.)
Top goalscorer: DJ is leading the charge with 10 goals.
DOD: whoever turns up in the wrong kit or wears it inside out..! (or leaves their stick on the train, am I right Katherine?!)
W3s
After a lot of moving around, we have finally settled into our amazing team and have created friendships that will last a lifetime. Although we are not top of the league we are improving every single week and staying away from the bottom of the league.
Most MOMs: Ellie Johnston our awesome goalkeeper
Most DODs: Captain Emily Davies
W4s
We didn’t start strong, with DOD votes included passing the ball directly off the backline (Gabby), straight to the CF at top of D (Anna); injury in the first match (Judy) and more, but once we stopped faffing and started listening to our wonderful coach, we got there. Currently 5th in the league I’m confident we’re well on our way to a top ½ finish. When we play our best hockey, we’re unstoppable.
Top Goalscorer: Still up for grabs and currently tied (Erica + Izzy (6), JT (3)) but we also count assists.
DOD: There is no doubt who will win it this year. Top goalscorer. Top plonker. Erica.
W5s
Whilst top of the league is just out of reach we’re gunning for a victory against the big three which would be a massive win for us! So watch out Clapham, Accies & London Ed's - we're coming for you with a vengeance!
Top goalscorer is all to play for: Amy Goodwin is currently in the lead but she's not out the woods yet with Sophie Burns snapping at her heels and Emily Sadler returning after an injury!
DOD: no one? W5s are a lovely team…

W7s
Over half our team is made of new THD members, many of whom have never played hockey before, so it's great that we got three wins in the first half of the season. We're looking to improve that in the second half of the season with at least four wins.
Top scorer: Rowan Doherty and Giulia Catani
DOD: No one, we never do anything silly. Ever.
M1s
New league and a coaching debacle led to a slightly up and down start to the season, but we're looking strong heading into the second half and expecting improvements in performances and results as more time passes with a new coaching philosophy.
Currently sitting mid-table, hoping for a top 4 finish.
Top scorer: Tarn Huxford 6
Most DODs: Babak (probably)
M2s
A mixed start to the season in a league with a few runaway teams at the top. We are sitting mid-table and are aiming to be best of the rest at the end of the season with important games against Wimbledon and Brombecks likely deciding it.
Top Scorer and DOD: Ferg
M3s
A lot of personnel changes versus last season led to a challenging start to the league. The squad have now settled down and we've started to put in some good wins. League has a couple of run-away teams but we are pushing to be best of the rest and a top 3/4 finish beckons.
Top scorer: Darren Murphy
Most DoDs: Max Jennings (probably)
M4s
We are on the hunt for promotion. After a slow start to the season, we ended last year with 6 wins in a row. (I count 23 goals scored!)
Top scorer: Tris
DOD: Saj for taking too long to send me this and leaving out the DOD.
M5s: The Diamonds
Having spent the two previous seasons in the hockey wilderness, sitting at the bottom of the table with the only goals against their name awarded being from a walk-over; the Diamonds have found themselves in the top half of the table with 6 wins from 10 games and 19 goals.
Post-Christmas, the Diamonds have started the second half of the season strong, beating Wapping M10s 4-1 and aiming to continue for a top 3 finish.
Top Goalscorer: James Heafield
Most Assists: Narns Morse
M6s
Yes. I’m confident we will win the league. 13 points clear at Christmas and unbeaten so far. We’ve scored 47 goals so far, I want us to score over 100.
Top Goalscorers: it’s neck and neck between Ben Jones (9 goals) and Tom Harris (10 goals). Could go either way.
DoD: probably something Zahid will do (he wins it most weeks).
THD Mixed
Joining the Sunday Mixed League for the first time this year we are generally running off our celebratory or commiserating hangovers from Saturday's league matches results.
A couple of wins under the belt from the first half of the season have helped shake off the cobwebs on a Sunday.
Top scorers: On 3 a piece Laura Keating and Tom Paish
DoD: CP pitch or Headhunter Zahid
