Thanks to some top tips from Jack Hampton, THD M6’s made sure they started strong in what was always going to be a tough away game against Wapping M9’s. Right from the off THD settled quickly into their game dominating play creating plenty of chances. Then after 15mins the breakthrough came with a lovey through ball to Ben Jones setting him up for a one on one with the keeper. Ben calmly and expertly slotted the ball past the Wapping keeper to put THD in front. More pressure from THD saw Wapping hardly get out of their half and THD went into the half time break leading by a single goal.
Wapping started strongly in the second half pinning THD back deep into their half for the first 10-15mins. THD weathered the storm, maintained composure, and gradually reasserted themselves on the game going on to dominate play for the final 20mins. Chances came from open play and a series of short corners which thanks to some cracking saves from the Wapping keeper kept the score line to just 1-0. But the win was secured when the final whistle went and THD picked up 3 points to maintain their post-Christmas run without defeat.
THD M6’s moves up to 6th in the table a point behind Brom Becks and just 2 points behind East London M7s in 4th slot who they play next week.
