Saturday League Match – 2-1 Win vs Sunbury
In honour of International Women’s Day, we celebrated a hard-fought 2-1 victory against Sunbury, avenging our unlucky loss earlier in the season. Both goals came from beautifully worked build-up play—the first from a slick PCA 1-2 between Em and Shanae, ending with a reverse stick sweep into the backboard. The winner was a textbook display of width and height, with Abi dropping to Milly, who hit the ball in. A gritty performance, causing chaos, and ultimately, three points in the bag!
Sunday Cup Match – 2-0 Win vs Andover (Semi-Finals Bound!)
After a two-hour trek down to Andover and with only 12 players, the team pushed through on tired legs to secure a 2-0 win and book a spot in the semi-finals. Disco Dora arrived in neon pink flares courtesy of Lidl’s Central Aisle, having forgotten some kit. However, fashion faux pas aside, she danced on with elite defending, flaring her way to multiple goal-line saves and ensuring we kept a clean sheet. Up front, Em and Orla delivered the goods, sealing the win. A game full of determination, teamwork, and just the right amount of disco magic!
Special Mentions
MOMs: Milly for her relentless energy, great runs, and a match-winning goal on Saturday, while Shanae impressed on Sunday with her composure and possession under pressure.
DODs: Row for arriving at the wrong pitch on Saturday and carrying on like nothing was amiss, and Orla for being a lean, green card machine on Sunday.
Dishonourable mentions go to Rebe for taking out the umpire’s foot and AJ as you still owe cake.
