First Aid

Although hockey is a relatively safe sport, first aid pitch-side can still make a huge difference in the treatment of sustained injuries.
It is mandatory for all junior training sessions and matches to have a first aider present and a pitch-side junior first aid kit is always present at home venues.
First Aid kits are also supplied by Tulse Hill & Dulwich Hockey Club to adult team captains and/or team managers. It is their responsibility to keep the kits stocked. Any restocking required (e.g. replacement ice-packs) during the season will either be supplied or can be refunded by the Club.
The Juniors section has an incident reporting process described on the laminated cards inserted into its first aid kits.
Each Sports Club / School has at least one accessible Defibrillator. Alleyn’s has 5, one in the Astro Toilet Block, one on the portacabin wall at the corner of the Astro.

Disclosure And Barring Service (DBS) Checks
Tulse Hill & Dulwich Hockey Club follows England Hockey's safe recruitment guidance. We are registered and used England Hockey’s Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) called Know Your People. The DBS is a government-run organisation that aids organisations in making safer recruitment choices. They do this by processing and issuing DBS checks that disclose any criminal convictions, warnings, cautions, or reprimands held in England or Wales that may impact on an individual's capacity to work with Juniors or vulnerable people. They also maintain adult and child barred lists and make decisions on whether individuals should be added to said lists.
You can find out more here. Please contact a member of our Safeguarding Team if you have any questions.
Risk Assessments
Please find below risk assessments for sites used for our in-season midweek and weekend programmes, our summer hockey programme and holiday camps.
Note: Group/Team Captains (or their delegate(s)) are responsible for player registration for all in-season weekend activities (or Team Managers in the case of junior away fixtures). Player lists for each group are accessible via the relevant Teamo groupings, along with player medical details and photo consent.
