On a crisp (if not unseasonably warm) afternoon, the L7s took to the pitch. As a new team and with a regularly changing lineup, the L7s started tentatively – learning pass by pass how to play with each other. As the heat gave way, the wind picked up and the rain lashed down, THD were peppering the Royals' GK with shots, a number of attacking shorts followed. Despite continued pressure, we went into half time at 0-0. 

The second half starts, and THD fuelled by copious (if not potentially excessive) amounts of sweets, took to the pitch with a renewed sense of energy.

A period of beautiful hockey ensued, with Matilda Roberts, Maise Stone-Lee, Ella Samra and Ammy Baldie piling the pressure on the Royals' defence. It was only a matter of time before the inevitable happened. A beautiful pass across the D was met by Ammy Baldie, who, with clinical precision, slotted it home.

THD 1 – Royals 0.

Not content with a 1-0 buffer, THD continued to push. With Viv Frade and Lyla Biswas providing defence cover and ensuring the ball barely crossed the halfway line, THD were toying with the Royals' defence and once again peppering the GK with on-target shots. As the stopwatch ran down, Ammy Baldie slotted home THD's 2nd.
