The junior section of Tulse Hill & Dulwich Hockey Club welcomes all young people who wish to play hockey – be they beginners, having been introduced to the game at school (or elsewhere) or whether they have played to a high standard already. We provide opportunities for young boys and girls between the ages of 5 and 16, whatever their previous experience, to receive coaching and to take part in various competitions during the course of the season which runs during term-time from September to Easter.
Whilst the younger age groups (U8, U10 and U12) play in friendly tournaments the U14 and U16 girls play in the Homes Counties’ Girls’ League and the U14 and U16 boys play in the Mercian and Kent Boys’ Leagues. We also enter national competitions across the age groups.
The club believes in not only developing young players but in encouraging and supporting individuals in coaching and umpiring the game of hockey so our older junior members often help coach the younger ones - and also have the opportunity to develop their umpiring skills.
All coaching is undertaken by coaches who have been screened for their suitability for working with young people and it is all overseen by a level 3 coach.
Any child is welcome to give the game a try - the first session is free and without commitment. So please do get in touch.
Older players (over 16s) are encouraged to attend senior club training.
