Team of the Week: W6

Match Report by the Sensational Sixes

22nd February

W6 vs East London W

Score:11-0

Set with 11 players the Sensational Sixes headed to Lee Valley to play East London.

Excited by the prospect of making their Olympic (pitch) debut, we were swiftly told that’s a no, go to pitch two.

Not letting this deter us we prepped for the game, ‘are we in the pub yet?’ …no what a shame!

Supporters ready on the sideline, we turn to them for tactics, we find them already distracted and chatting away. The game begins.

Archie’s voice in our ear for shorts: “don’t do a straight strike”. We do a straight strike. It doesn’t go in. Maybe he’s right. But wait what’s this, we get the rebound!

The short corners kept coming.  With goals from Emily, Jenny and more…

In our own goal, Mandy was content with her relaxing day in the sun.

Oz made a run and scored, 6-0 and all smiles heading into half time.

Notes from the spectators on the sideline were brief, M1s, who?

Away we go with the second half, Lila and Lucy at the back looking for the transfer.

Laura, Laura, and Liv all added to the scoreline, with shorts, slick passing and birthday shots on their mind.

Stroke awarded, hat-trick for Hannah!

Imagine being on your ninth goal, could we get to double figures?

X-rays avoided, a miracle for Jen and Em.

Eager to join the scoreboard, Katie brought us to 11. Another win under our belt, we’re in heaven.

Social planned in the evening, of course we’ll be out! It’s the 6s, drinks will be flowing, we had no doubt!
