Upper Men's Season Summary 2022/23:
After a big intake of new players, hopes were high for the Men's 1s and 2s who both looked to build on progress made in the previous season.
The M1s had a season of 2 halves, finding form in the second half of the season with standout wins against Southgate, London Eds and Barnes enough to see them secure their status in London Prem for next season.
On a sad note, this was Mark Hobbs' final season with the M1s team (front row, second from left). Over 200 appearances, 7 goals, numerous assists, captain of 3 seasons. He knows he will be highly missed.
The M2s had a season of enjoyment and improvement, including some big scorelines against Surbiton and BromBecks, and wins against strong London Eds and Old Cranleighan teams. An impressive run of results in the second half of the season brought them into the promotion race but, in a tight league they ended 6th.
With both teams remaining in their respective leagues, next season holds a great opportunity for consolidation of the teams as they push to challenge higher up the table.
